Everyone involved apparently worked only halftime: Weaver’s evil cackle seems on a loop, a singing duet by Prinze and Gellar sounds like it was recorded on a four-track in someone’s basement, and the wizard literally appears for two minutes at film’s start before he smartly abandons the movie.

Happily N’Ever After provides examples of: Abnormal Ammo: The Dwarves use diamonds as ammo. All-Natural Gem Polish; Apple of Discord: Rick causes the wolves to fight over who is stronger with this. Big Bad: Frieda, the Evil Stepmother; Boyish Short Hair: Cinderella; Damsel in Distress: Played with. Prince Humperdinck hopes Ella is one, but in the end she kicks more ass than he does.

Directed by Paul Bolger, Yvette Kaplan, Greg Tiernan. With Sigourney Weaver, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Patrick Warburton, George Carlin. An alliance of evil-doers, led by Frieda, looks to take over Fairy Tale Land. But when Ella realizes her stepmother is out to ruin her storybook existence, she takes a dramatic turn and blossoms into the leader of the resistance effort.

Happily N’Ever After is a fractured fairy-tale about fractured fairy-tales created by the good folks that brought us Shrek. And while I was not a huge fan of the Shrek films (the 2 nd one was better), I can appreciate their sense of fun that entertained on every level.
